OI! LOOKY HERE!
Does anyone know of a good t-shirt reconstructor (artist that makes different shirts using t-shirts) in/around the Seattle area?

January 15th, 2007

Well, I'm in the Tidbits section, at least :)Collapse )

I ASSume you can still find the January BeadStyle magazine on the shelf at... wherever you find magazines locally (it was still on the rack at the local QFC) but this is hella belated.

Happy Holidays from IHR!

It's hard to believe another year has come and gone. Come celebrate the last holiday of the year with us. We have lots of special things in store for you!

Most important are all the fabulous vendors you have come to know and love over the last year, plus a few new ones that may become faves. Come and join everyone for some fun and cool indie holiday shopping, including Seattle Craft Mafia's own The Bathery.

Gift basket give away!

As if that weren't enough, IHR is having a holiday gift basket give away! Drop your biz card (or fill out a slip at our booth) and drop it in the jar and at 3pm we'll announce the winning entry. Gift basket includes a Cold Heat Glue Gun, Craft Magazine, a handmade notebook/journal from Attic Journals, an IHR tank top and button, room spray and bath salts from SCM's own The Bathery, and a flower brooch made from recycled sweaters from Bella Sisters. It all comes tucked neatly into a sleigh basket! Whether you keep it for yourself or give it away, this is a great indie holiday gift basket!

Special guest for December is author Thomas Wurst who will be autographing and selling copies of his newest book "Pearl's Christmas Present", an illustrated Christmas story about a little boy who wants to be a girl.

We've brought back our favorite DJ for the holidays, DJ Colby B. We've asked her to throw in a few rocked out xmas tunes to get us all in the holiday spirit!

And as always, the Crocodile Café will be serving up their yummiest of yummy brunches! Good food for the bad weather we've been having!

So come on down on Sunday December 17th from 12-4pm! Bring cash and some holiday cheer!

Hey ladies, looks like I'm up and running on this now. Hurray!

I mentioned an inexpensive fabric site at our last meeting and promised a link. It's Marshall Dry Goods, and their site is at http://www.marshalldrygoods.com/store/. Some of the fabrics are pretty weak, but they have some good stuff too for a great retail price. You can even set up a wholesale account with them...

Also, just FYI -- I'm looking into what options there are for a wireless credit card machine. I'd love to have one by the UCU show. We shall see.

More links:
* My "long"-standing blog is at http://www.pettyvices.typepad.com
* I've got a few little things up on Etsy at http://www.2NineLives.etsy.com
* I have an ecommerce web site under construction; the URL is http://www.2NineLives.com and will hopefully be up and running next week (now I just need more product...yikes!)

10am - 5pm
Catharine Blaine School
2550 34th Avenue West
Seattle

Catharine Blaine K-8 School is a Seattle Public School located in the Magnolia neighborhood. It draws children from around the city, primarily the Magnolia/Queen Anne neighborhoods and the south east neighborhoods of Beacon Hill, Rainier and Columbia City. The school has a high percentage of parent involvement. The PTA funds a full time Art teacher, Music teacher, Reading Specialist and Counselor. Our school is the home of the School of Rock program that involves “at risk” middle school age kids in their own rock bands. (How cool is that!) As we all know, the Seattle Public Schools are not able to put as much funding into each of the schools as is needed. With a lot of hard work and support from the neighborhood Blaine continues to offer the special extra classes like Art and Music which children need to be well-rounded individuals.

Come shop DIY with SCM's own Double Duchess Designs, Mama Monkey, Paddy Litvak Jewelry and The Bathery among others at this wonderful event.
